Panaji: Shadow Council for Margao (SCM) on Tuesday launched a signature campaign against the Ordinance amending the Municipal act, which pertains to the house tax for premises within Municipal limits.
SCM Convener Savio Coutinho informed that a memorandum has been prepared, which will be handed over to the three MLAs associated with the Margao Municipal Council. “Through the memorandum we wish to urge the concerned MLAs to address the issue of house tax, which incidentally has skipped the attention of the representatives, who are seen being vocal on the amendment of section 88 only, which is related to the Market’s.”, Coutinho stated further.

speaking about the campaign Mr Coutinho inferred “campaign shall be carried out in all the 25 wards in the constituencies of Margao, Fatorda and Curtorim; and a protest shall also be held below the Margao Municipal Council building on January 23 at 4pm,”
