Also, its been almost nine years since Whatsapp came into existence, if you asked where will this invention take us, everyone will have an answer however if I ask about its present implementation, we have finite things to say.
In the worlds that we live in, we do not live in the present moment; we live in future for the better future. Every brand will ultimately compel you to buy their product convincing you,’’ its for your better future.’’ Does that even exist?
Even philanthropy seems to encircle amongst the dimensions of the future, ‘we will do charity, oh when?’ LATER! We all have been there, gasping our breaths in the hands of hope for the sunshine that will be going to fulfill our quests, when tomorrow will come.
So, superheroes do exist, one such right in your house, a Woman. And the lady who realized true potential of these superheroes was Siya, with her unbeatable vision and efforts that could take mountains, with astute caliber and intelligence, built her empire from the ashes, we all know it in the form of ‘Goa Go Womania’.
Taking a Vacation, one fine day, at her native village, Siya saw some women striving to market their product but in vain of their attempts due to lack of resources and networking. To me and you, it would have been just another ignorant incidence of life. But for Siya, it was her breakthrough. Looking at those village women, their fruitless trials every single day, yet a hope to try again because it was not just about money, but food. Not the food we eat, the food we feed our heart with using our talents. And it was not just about a village but every place in India. That day something moved in the heart of Siya, and our superhero with her sari cape, a civil engineer and incredible courage to make a difference, decided to not only to not put things off for tomorrow but to act now, in the present moment, with the implementation of new technology, Social media groups.
So Siya (Rafina) Shaikh has completed her Civil Engineering and right after her graduation started working in Pune. She worked in marketing field for 8 years. With the experience of 8 years she started ’Goa Metal Composites’ along with partners which manufactures FRP doors and railings and interiors_. So as the journey that began from the little village in Goa, has now covered several miles connecting thousands of women now turning entrepreneurs.
Goa Goa Womania started with just 10-15 members in the group and now its been continuously expanding to 8300 members and still counting. As the years have passed, Goa Go Womania is gaining the popularity over the states, it is no more confined to Goa only.
In thisFacebook group along with pretty what’s app group, all women who are doing some business discuss and help each other for their products. Apart from that, sometimes they even encourage and empower each other generally. And just like we got very occupied with our lives after marriage and lost our best friends from the school, Goa Go womania reunited us to come together and contribute.
The Goa Go Womania whatsapp group also has various themes where the days have been decided. For instance, the Bazaar day – a bazar day is for the sale of the products, a feedback day- for the feedback of the products endorsed and wipeout day- for the donation of the articles that ladies would like to give out to needy.
Goa Go Womania have now taken shape of concrete caring sharing community which conducts various workshops, activities such as pop up events where woman can sell and promote their business. Furthermore, it also includes cooking competitions, eco-friendly Ganesh idol making, calligraphy lessons, stress management, health campaigns and the list goes on etc.
Besides empowering women, Goa Go Womania also takes responsibility to work for social causes. They have been helping underprivileged children for their education. They have also undertaken charity work where they collected enough funds from the group members to buy shoes for the entire school. The group also visited the orphanage where they provided food items and donated some clothes. ‘’The smile of children was worth the lifetime’’, Siya recalls.
As the admin of the group, Siya usually handles all the work. They conduct monthly meetings with core members where they plan for all upcoming activities and scrutinize things that should be implemented and fostered to serve the group in a better sense. Siya says, the main focus of Goa Go Womania is to get to the interiors of Goa so that ladies over their gets the benefits of getting in touch with the city crowd and help them reach their business to greater heights.
Truly, for the world where people are forming communities to bomb and kill each other, Goa Go Womania although a small group right now but has been contributing in incurring massive impact. It is a huge hope for numerous of women struggling every single day in every other households. Really this superhero has transformed the once utopia of our dreams into safe haven for all women. With their unbeatable enthusiasm, humility, courage and love, I wish Goa Go Womania, the luck they deserve from the eons.
