Panaji: Even as COVID-19 curve is yet to get flattened in the coastal state, the party continues in state’s leading night clubs with the revelers allowed to enjoy without mask, creating a fear of another massive outbreak.

The Saturday night parties were held at the clubs include La Rive, Tito’s and Cape Town in the coastal belt, completely violating the norms and SOPs specified by the state government. Such parties can be a next hotspot for covid-19 spread in the state.

Goa has seen more than 500 deaths due to COVID-19 while the number of positive cases detected every day has been more than 300, leaving strains on the hospital.

The night clubs which are allowed as a part of state’s tourism unlocking process are violating the norms, triggering a possibility of another massive outbreak. State had witnessed rise in the cases after Ganesh Chaturthi festival, while temples in the state have resorted for low key Navaratri celebrations to avoid the spread.

The questions are raised how come the law enforcement agencies, District Administration and Tourism Department has been ignoring the violation of the guidelines by these clubs, specially those who are well connected with the people in power.
