Panaji: Slowly and steady, Dhavalikar brothers seems to be losing their hold over Goa’s oldest Regional Party – Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. The Central committee meeting which was held today was just one of the indication of that.

Sources stated that the Central Committee meeting which was chaired by MGP President Dipak Dhavalikar turned fiery, marred with arguments and allegations. Dhavalikar brothers were at the receiving end with the salvo against them being fired by their former close-aide Lavu Mamlatdar.

Though neither Dhavalikar nor Lavu were available for comments, sources stated that the central committee meeting remained inconclusive. The arguments were over the increasing dictatorship of Junior Dhavalikar in the party and also the way other members were being treated.

Mamlatdar, former ponda MLA, even went to the extent of refusing to hand over the minutes book during the meeting claiming that “some of the non members from the central committee were present for the meeting.”

The former MLA has been accusing Dipak of hijacking the age old party and trying to sell it out to BJP for the political gains.

While details of the meeting was not available till now, we will bring to you the inside story as and when we get the confirmations.
