Panaji: Senior BJP leader C T Ravi defended his government in Goa over COVID-19 cases claiming that there were more positive cases and deaths in Maharashtra which has a three party government.
Ravi was talking to reporters on Thursday in Panaji after attending a meeting of Goa BJP MLAs along with party’s National General Secretary B L Santhosh.
“Maharashtra has more positive cases, it has more deaths (than Goa). There is a three party government in that state,” he said responding to a question seeking his reaction to the 51 per cent positive reported in Goa, during last fortnight.
“The Goa government has handled the pandemic situation properly,” he commented.
Asked whether the COVID-19 pandemic will have repercussions on the oncoming elections, Ravi said “it has not happened only in India, the outbreak was there even in Europe and also in America.”
He said that India is the only country which has manufactured two vaccines in the last one year to fight back COVID-19.
Ravi’s statement met with the objection from AAP.
