Industrial Estate Associations with Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) have started free vaccination drive for industrial workers in Cuncolim and Verna Industrial Estates. It Will start in kundaim from Wednesday.
Cuncolim Industries Association with support from Balli Primary Health Centre is conducting free vaccination drive on 26th and 27th from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Today around 550 workers have been vaccinated and more number of workers are expected tomorrow.
Verna Industries Association have also started vaccination drive in Verna with their own Vaccines ,procured directly from Serum Institute in tie up with Mother care Hospital , Margao. Besides the vaccination for industries workers , Verna Industries Association has also donated 1200 vaccine doses to Govt., Health Centres for free vaccination in the surrounding villages.
The vaccination drive in the Industrial Estates was possible due to personal intervention of the Chief Minister Shree Pramod Sawant and assistance from the Health Authorities.
GSIA had requested the Chief Minister to hold “TikaUtsav” in Industrial Estates as the industrial workers could not afford to lose a day’s wages and attend vaccination drive held at Panchayat level.
