Margao: Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has demanded that there should be immediate and effective response to escalating crime in the state.
Sardesai said Goemkars are demanding immediate, effective response to escalating crime.
He said that Goa Police officers must leave their cozy cabins and Facebook posts and start policing the streets of Goa.
Sardesai said that for years he has been warning the Goa government of the dangerous consequences that Goa would face with such callous, lethargic and insensitive attitude both from the force and the Home Ministry.
“Goa’s conviction rate is the 7th lowest in the country, and even after a spate of heinous crimes, no one is held responsible or accountable. I’m offering solutions to make Goa a safer place for tourists and residents; I’m urging the Govt to heed,” he added.
