Panaji: Indian Meteorological Department has issued orange alert for Goa from Friday till June 11, warning fishermen against venturing in the Sea.
The department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in both the districts of the coastal state, which has started receiving pre monsoon showers from Thursday onwards.
The advisory issued by the IMD has said that thunderstorm accompanied with lightening and winds gusting to 40-50 KMPH very likely at isolated places over North and South Goa.

The department has further said that Squally weather with wind speed 35 kmph to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph likely to prevail along and off North Maharashtra on June 8.
“Squally weather with wind speed 45 kmph to 55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to prevail along and off Maharashtra- Goa on June 9- 11,” it has added.
The fishermen are advised not to venture along and off North Maharashtra coast during above mentioned period, the IMD has said.
