Panaji: Goa State Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant said that government is hopeful that the necessary amendment to the MMDR Act, to restart mining activities in the State, will be introduced in the upcoming winter session of the Parliament.
Sawant told reporters that during their recent meeting, party national President Amit Shah had issued instruction to the officials to clear the file as soon as possible.
“We are hopeful that the amendment will be introduced in the coming parliament session,” he said adding that a delegation from Goa will soon be going to Delhi to know the exact status of the file.
Sawant also informed that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has also sent a reminder letter to Centre.
