Panaji: Even as State government announced to grant one year time for submitting application for regularization of Alavar land, the farmers under Sattari Bhumiputra Samiti demand for withdrawal of amendment made to the Goa Land Revenue Code while demanding total proprietorship of the land.

Samiti member Ranjit Rane said that we strongly demand withdrawal of the amendment as the Land Revenue Code.

“We are already owners of the land so where is the question of government giving us ownership. We have got definitive title during Portuguese regime,” he said.

“Hence, we want now total proprietorship and not occupancy,” Rane said.

The Samiti also slammed local MLA and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane for trying to take “credit” of their movement.
