Harish Salve to speak on ‘The Constitution of India & the Rule of Law’ at ICG on April 10

 Panaji : Mr. Harish Salve Queen’s Counsel and Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of India will speak at the International Centre Goa (ICG) on topic ‘The Constitution of India and the Rule of Law on Saturday, 10th April 2021 from 6-7 PM IST. The event’s introduction will be done by Yatin Kakodkar, President of ICG and moderated by Dattaraj Salgaocar, Vice President of ICG.
 Mr. Harish Salve was formerly Solicitor General of India (1999-2002) and is a Senior Advocate at the Indian Bar (1992),  practicing largely in the Supreme Court of India. He famously fought the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).  In January 2020, he was appointed as a Queen’s Counsel for the Courts of England and Wales.
Mr. Salve began his legal career in 1980 at J. B. Dadachandji & Co., first as an intern, and later as a full-time lawyer. During this time, he assisted Nani Palkhivala in the Minerva Mills Case. He was later designated a Senior Counsel by the Delhi High Court. Some of his notable involvements include Vodafone Tax Dispute, First AntiDumping case in the Supreme Court of India and the Aarushi-Hemraj Double Murder case. In 2017, India Today ranked him 43rd in a list of India’s 50 Most Powerful People. Mr. Salve was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2015.
