Panaji : Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress on the occasion of Rahul Gandhi’s birthday , distributed Medicinal plants such as Adulsa, Lemon grass, citrica and Tulsi, to the farmers at Alto Bella Vista, Sangolda.
The function was attended by the office bearers Pratibha Borkar, Priya Rathod,Roshal Fernandes and compared by Sandra Fernandes.
President of GPMC Beena S. Naik in her address said that if we grow trees it will combat global warming. She recalled the “ Chipko Movement” that took place in 1973 which went on to become a rallying point for many future environmental movements not only in India but all over the world.
She said that we must protect the green environment which BJP under the garb of making cities & widening of highways is destroying it.
At the tree planting drive Mahila Sandra Fernandes said that we could give Rahulji no better present on his birthday than highlighting the importance of nature . “Nature can live without us but we cannot live without nature” she asserted.
