Goa’s two prominent sportsmen join TMC

Saligao: Two of Goa’s prominent sporting personalities joined Trinamool Congress Party on Saturday in presence of party’s senior leaders.
Goa Boxing Association’s Vice President Lenny D’Gama and former Indian footballer Denzil Franco joined TMC in a function held at Saligao assembly constituency in North Goa.
D’Gama was also India’s only boxing official at Tokyo Olympics.
West Bengal’s Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Manoj Tiwary and Party’s Member of Parliament Prasun Banerjee were present for the induction on Saturday morning.
TMC has announced that it will be contesting upcoming Goa Legislative Assembly elections. Ten leaders including former Congress MLA Luizinho Faleiro, former MGP MLA Lavu Mamlekar and others have joined the party.
