Goa Raj Bhavan launches initiative to preserve ancient trees on PM’s birthday

Panaji: On the occasion of Birthday of PM Narendra Modi. Goa Raj Bhavan took up an unique initiative called “Prachi vriksha ayurvedic chikitsa” aimed at preserving the ancient trees in the coastal state.

The initiative was launched by Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai in presence of Chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant and others.

Dr. P. M. Varier (managing trustee) Kottakkal Arya vaidya Sala, kerala and Mr. Devidas Varier (managing director) coimbatore arya vaidya pharmacy coimbatore, Tamil Nadu were also present on the occasion.

This initiative is a follow up of the tour undertaken by the Governor, earlier last year, to visit the century-old trees across the state.

Before inaugurating this initiative on Tuesday, the Governor also prayed at various places on the occasion of birthday of PM Narendra Modi.

“First time we have prayed for PM Narendra Modi on his birthday, at all the religious places in Raj Bhavan,” he said.

The Governor in his address said that the protection of age-old trees is significant for the overall welfare of the state. He said that these trees should be protected for posterity by the community.

He narrated his experiences during the tour, which he undertook to visit the century old trees.

Chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant appreciated Governor for his work towards caring and treatment of Goa’s heritage trees. Sawant said that all Goans should join hand for the cause of preserving these natural treasures.

“ I am delighted to join this inauguration of Unique initiative called “prachin vriksha ayurvedic chikitsa in treasuring and caring this Ancient trees which mark the PM Modi birthday,” he said.

Sawant congratulated the Governor for his great vision and starting this unique initiative.
