Porvorim: The Fourteenth Session of the Eighth Goa Legislative Assembly will commence on August 31 and continue for three sittings until September 2, according to a bulletin issued by the Goa Legislature Secretariat on Wednesday.

The session has been summoned by the Governor of Goa through an order dated July 27 and will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 31.

According to the calendar of sittings, the House will meet on August 31, September 1, and September 2.

The bulletin stated that the proceedings of the House will begin at 11:30 a.m. on all three days. The lunch break will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by a tea break from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The House will adjourn for the day at 6:00 p.m. or earlier if the listed business concludes before then.

The bulletin also stated that the House may alter the timings through a motion and that, at present, it will not meet on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays.

The strength of the House has been reduced from 40 to 38 following the demise of two BJP MLAs—former Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik and Taleigao MLA Jennifer Monserrate.
