Panaji: Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai on Thursday accused state government of failing to provide adequate infrastructure to check Coronavirus patients entering the state.
Sardesai alleged that the counter for Coronavirus scanning set up at state’s lone airport has been left “unmanned.”
The former deputy chief minister also demanded that the protocol should be drawn for domestic travelers, like the way it is done for international tourists, as the virus has already entered the country.
“At Goa airport, there is a signage which urges the travelers arriving from countries like China to volunteer to get checked,” he said.
“But besides the signage, there is nothing more to check the passengers,” Sardesai added.
Goa Forward Party chief also said that the government should also issue protocol even for domestic tourists along with international tourists.
“Check them at casinos. Protocol has to send before they enter hotels. They might give disease to Goans,” he demanded.
“This is because of ineffective and insensitive government. Our CM should take the cue from other CMs who have been working overtime to avoid spread of the virus,” he said.
