Dona Paula: All the 14 Congress MLAs from Goa on Monday left for Raj Bhavan to stake claim to form the next government, after the demise of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Congress Legislative Party (CLP) met in Panaji on Monday morning after Governor Mridula Sinha refused to give them appointment.

The opposition party had given letter staking claim to form the government on Friday, but Governor has not allowed them the appointment.

Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar said that the MLAs have decided to walk to Raj Bhavan, uninvited. “We are majority party in the House and still have to struggle to get the appointment. We demand that we should be invited to form the government under the circumstances where government does not exist after demise of Parrikar,” Kavlekar said.
