Margao:Congress’s Goa Vice President Sankalp Amonkar took on NCP MLA Churchill Alemao for his criticism against the party calling him as a “B Team of BJP.”
Addressing a press conference in Margao, Amonkar questioned why Alemao has para-glided into Navelim constituency when few hours are left for the polling.
Alemao had supported Independent candidate Cipru Fernandes, while questioning Congress for their constant attack on his candidate and sparing BJP and AAP.
Amonkar said that it is well known fact that Alemao is a B Team of BJP and was executing the work given to him by the masters.
He claimed that Alemao was shooed away from Navelim by voters. “Alemao wants to rehabilitate his daughter, that is why is indulging into such acts,” Amonkar said.
The Congress leader stated that Alemao’s tactics are well known. “if Alemao is serious about Navelim ZP polls, he should have fielded NCP candidate, why is he supporting the Independent candidate, that too at the last minute,” he questioned.
Amonkar said that BJP, which is looking at the certain defeat in Navelim constituency, is banking on its “extra force” through Alemao.
The Congress leader said that his party candidate, Pratima Coutinho, has been getting tremendous support in the constituency and would be winning the seat.
He appealed voters to understand the politics behind Alemao’s statement and keep such “opportunistic politicians” at bay.
