Panaji: The old Ribander hospital has come under spotlight after Aires Rodrigues spoke on the need to preserve the heritage building.
“Since the Old Ribandar Hospital is a heritage building I have requested the very proactive Principal of Goa College of Architecture Dr. Ashish Rege and his expert faculty to guide on how best the conservation of this heritage building being Asia’s first medical school established on December 13, 1867 can be ensured. Their ideas and expertise in the field would go a long way,” said Rodrigues.
He also inferred the willingness to meet up with Panaji MLA to discuss more about the full fledged hospital, Rodrigues opined, “As our MLA Babush Moserrate has been out of station last week, we hope to meet up him this week to be updated on the progress of the Health Centre project and to share with him some of our views and ideas on the issue.”
