AAP may project Amit Palekar for North Goa MP ticket?

Panaji: The statement by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal that they are having discussion with INDIA bloc over one of the seat in Goa has fuelled speculations that the party will eye for North Goa seat.

The South Goa seat of INDIA Bloc is already represented in the Parliament by MP Francis Sardinia. The congress has failed to get its MP elected from North Goa for several years with BJP’s Shripad Naik scoring over the rivals, every time.

AAP sources confirmed that the party may ask for North Goa MP ticket for the upcoming election. Kejriwal, who is an important part of the INDIA bloc, will be pitching for the ticket.

Palekar has been projected as a face within the party.

When contacted, Palekar neither accepted nor denied his party’s claim or his willingness to contest. “I am a soldier of the party. I will handle any given responsibility,” he said.
