Vishwajit Rane admits unhygienic food supply in GMC, blames it for misrule of five yrs

Panaji: Within hours of www.goanewshub.combreaking the story of how food was being carried on a stretcher and chapattis in the bucket at Goa medical College and hospital, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has admitted the incident.

Rane promised that a practice of providing unhygienic food to the patients need to end. “This is negligence of five years that needs to be destroyed,” the health minister has said in a audio statement released here.

The statement comes hours after our website carried a picture of food being carrying in a pathetic condition on the stretcher. Social activist Sudip Dalvi had highlighted the situation in the Goa medical college and hospital.

“Today I have seen the picture being circulated on social media of food being served in a bucket. That needs to end. This is negligence of five years that needs to be destroyed,” he said.

Rane said “we need to put our mind and efforts. Our poor people will get good facilities.”

The health minister has also stated that the GMCH is finalizing a tender for providing good food to the patients which will be served by special people.
