Margao: Goa Forward Party Chief and Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai lost his cool, this morning, when phone of Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Siddhivinayak Naik kept ringing amidst important discussion.

Sardesai was quick enough to regret for the incident by calling Naik and also issuing a press statement.

The incident happened when Sardesai was discussing the issue of Sonsodo garbage dump, and Naik’s phone kept on ringing.

“We were discussing a very serious issue which is a symbol of failure of the civic body and the administration and which pertains to the entire Salcete in general and my constituency of Fatorda in particular,” the Deputy Chief Minister said in a statement released here.

“I was irritated with the ringing phone when a topic of such seriousness was being discussed and for which specifically I had come to the site,” he added.

“I regret that I lost my cool and have expressed the same with MMC’s Chief Officer,” he said.

Meanwhile, Naik has accepted his mistake for not keeping the cell phone on vibration mode. “The phone kept on ringing, so it is obvious for anyone to get irritated. It was my mistake,” he said.
