Union Minister Nitin Gadkari reviews work on various infra projects in Goa

Panaji: Union Minister for Highways and Road Transport Nitin Gadkari on Saturday held review meeting with Goa officials over various infrastructure projects.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was also present for the meeting along with other MLAs that reviewed various infrastructure projects proposed and also being undertaken in the state including an important link road connecting Manohar International Airport at Mopa.

A senior state government official said that during the meeting, it was decided that the link road to the MIA at Mopa would be completed by April 2024, which will provide better connectivity to this facility.

It was also decided that the work on six-lane elevated corridor in Porvorim, which was inaugurated by Gadkari on Friday, will begin from January 2024.

The meeting also discussed that the road connecting Highway to the Mormugao Port Authority in Vasco town would be completed by April, 2024 while the new bridge across Zuari river in Borim village has been granted tentative approval by National Highway Authority of India.

Gadkari also reviewed appointment of a consultant for a Ring Road in the state which will curb congestion on two national highways – Mumbai –Kanyakumari and Goa-Hyderbad.

The meeting also discussed that there would be no toll imposed for the internal roads of the coastal state.
