Canacona: A twitter user has red-flagged the state authorities and environmentally conscious people about the increasing garbage pollution at famous Butterfly beach.

The twitter use with handle @PurtiRS based out of Panaji has tweeted “Someone needs to go to the butterfly beach for a clean up drive. The originally mesmerizing beach has been discovered by tourists. It’s now full of plastic bottles, beer bottles, cans, wrappers and what not. This is not only in the sand but also in the water too, floating on waves.”

The user, who introduces herself as dog lover with trekking and gymming as hobbies, further tweeted “The government hasn’t appointed anyone there yet. Neither on security duty nor on cleaning duty. Sick of this irresponsible behaviour of the tourists.”

“Went there for a rappelling trek. One of our teammates made this video,” she tweeted posting the video revealing trash on the beach.
