Calangute : Goa Police have arrested three persons wanted in connection with a dacoity at Gandhidham, Gujarat reported on January 29, 2023, a senior official said.
A senior Goa Police official said that Calangute police arrested three persons, two of whom were found gambling at a casino ship in Panaji and third one at beach village of Candolim on Saturday.
The arrests were made with the help of Gujarat Crime Branch, Kutch (East), who were down in Goa on the track of these accused.
On January 29, 2023, all the three accused had attacked a businessman from Apna Nagar Gandhidham Gujarat and during commission of Dacoity caused grievous injury to businessman due to firing by Pistol.
Thereafter accused person decamped with Rs 40 lakhs from possession of Businessman.
All the three accused were booked at Gandhidham A Division Police station for Criminal Conspiracy, Robbery using weapon, criminal trespass, attempt to murder and under Arms Act.
Calangute police had received the information that all the three accused were present in their jurisdiction.
On Saturday, Calangute Police team led by Inspector Dattaguru Sawant along with, PSI Rajaram Bagkar, HC Vidyanand Amonkar, PC Manoj Naik, Gaurav Chodankar, Amir Garad, Yogesh Kholkar initially apprehended Manu Singh Thakor near Candolim football ground.
Based on interrogation team was deputed at Panaji accompanied by Sub Inspector S.S.Varu and other staff of Crime Branch ,Kutch ( East) to verify presence of other two accused on casino boats.
Upon inquiry, team successfully traced two accused Chatrapal Singh and Surat Singh on Casino ship.
Team headed by Sub Inspector SS Varu of Crime Branch Kutch (East) along with their staff took custody of all three accused and interrogation is in progress by them.
