Panaji: Thousands of tourists descended on the beaches of Goa to bid adieu to the last Sunset of the year 2019.
The beaches are already overcrowded since Tuesday evening with the party revelers making beeline to the coastal state known for its all night long parties.
The beaches including Miramar, Calangute, Candolim, Baga, Sinquerim, Keri, Morjim in North Goa and Colva, Benaulim, Betalbhatim, Pololem, Galjibag in South Goa witnessed huge rush during the sunset as the people witnessed the last Sunset of the year 2019.
The coastal State is known as the party destination for the tourists who throng here every year. Various parties are planned from the evening of December 31 which will continue till the morning of January 01.
Some of the parties will continue even till January 02 as State government has relaxed the ban on late night music for two days from December 31 onwards.
Meanwhile, State Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has extended his greetings and best wishes for the people of Goa on the occasion of New Year 2020.
The Chief Minister in his message has said gthat people from across the world celebrated New year with greater joy and happiness. It brings new hopes and new vision in the life of people, he said.
New Year comes with new opportunities for everyone to achieve desired goals and learn from the past years.
“On this occasion, I urge everyone to rededicate themselves and put in renewed and determined efforts to achieve socio economic development and take Goa ahead in all areas of human endeavors,” Sawant said.
