Swabhiman 2020 to honour Goa Police on Feb 1 at Kala Academy

Panaji: Goa Police have always been working round the clock to ensure law and order and security of the citizens. They work on the field 24 by 7 to ensure that we can sleep peacefully at home. But hardly we recognize the efforts that is taken by man in uniform.

There is always a distance between common man and police. In a bid to bridge this gap and honour those several hundred policemen who slog day in and out for us Rajashree Creations, Ponda, Raj Housing and Art and Culture Department is organizing ‘Swabhiman 2020’, an award ceremony to salute the hard work, dedication and efforts of Goa Police.

The award function would be held on Saturday,February 1 at 6.30 pm at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy, Panaji.

Entire event has been conceptualized by Paresh Naik of Rajashree Creations with the help of Raj Housing. Art and Culture Department Minister Govind Gaude has whole-heartedly supported the award function.

The function will felicitate 23 different policemen right from the rank of Constable to the Inspector General of Police.

What is striking is that more than 40 per cent of the award winners are women, showing their increasing influence in the force.

A retired police officer would be honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar would be present for the function along with Chief Secretary Parimal Rai and Inspector General of Police Jaspal Singh.

The event is open for all.

Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude said “the main aim of the function is to create awareness about policing and provide them the social support.”

“Policemen and their families who contribute in a big way for the society always remain behind the scene, unrecognized. The award function is to recognize all the policemen from Goa Police Force.”
