Porvorim: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte on Sunday said that the organizers of Sunburn EDM festival “should not think that they can make Goa government dance to their tune.”

The minister was responding to a question by a journalist about announcement of upcoming edition of Sunburn EDM festival to be held at Mopa, the village which is a home for  Manohar International Airport in North Goa.

A media report had claimed that the organizers of Sunburn festival wants to shift the venue from Vagator beach to the plateau near Manohar International Airport (Mopa).

“The organizers of Sunburn festival should not think that they can make Goa government dance to their tune,” Khaunte said on Sunday in Panaji.

The tourism minister said that he will discuss the issue with chief minister Pramod Sawant.

The minister also said that the Sunburn is yet to be given permission to host their festival in the state and should not take things for granted.

“We can also hold other festivals during that time in Goa,” he said, hinting at replacing the Sunburn EDM festival.

The minister said that last year, the organizers of the festival did not even keep to their promise of prominent space for Goan artists to perform at Sunburn.

The EDM Festival is being held at Vagator beach in the month of December for past several years.
