Panaji: Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Rajesh Patnekar has been tested positive for COVID-19 infection and is currently admitted in state run hospital, a senior functionary said.
“Patnekar has been admitted in Goa Medical College and Hospital after he tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday,” Victor Gonsalves, former MLA and Vice President of Goa Legislature Forum told reporters.
He said that the Speaker was admitted in GMCH on Wednesday and as per the doctors with whom he spoke, his condition is stable.
Patnekar is the third BJP leader to be tested positive for COVID-19 infection in last one week. Goa Pradesh Chief of BJP Sadanand Tanavade and Party’s General Secretary (Organisation) Satish Dhond have been tested positive since last Monday and both of them are being treated at Goa Medical College and Hospital near here.
