Panaji:  Goa Medical College and Hospital on Thursday said that the health condition of Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik is “much better than yesterday.”

In a medical bulletin issued here, Dean of GMCH Dr Shivanand Bandekar has said that Naik is much better than yesterday and his general condition is improving.

“All his vital parameters are stable. His blood pressure is normal. He still continues to be on High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) oxygenation and is maintaining oxygen Saturday at 98 per cent,” Bandekar said.

He said that Naik’s urinary and blood tests done today are all within normal limits. Pulse rate is 84 per minute.

“His upper limb dressings have been changed today and wounds are healing well. He was given mild bed side physiotherapy and was made to sit bed side,” Bandekar said.

“His left lower limb physiotherapy was done and chest spirometry started. He was made to sip water sitting bed side,” the Dean said.

Naik had met with an accident on Monday while returning back from Karnataka. His wife and a close aide had succumbed to the injuries.
