Routine services at Goa Medical College affected as strike enters fourth day

Bambolim: The routine services at state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital continued being affected for the fourth day on Monday as the junior and senior resident doctors continued their strike demanding justice to Kolkata rape victim.

The doctors affiliated to Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) has struck the work since Friday afternoon, demanding justice to the victim of R G Kar Medical college at Kolkata.

Dean of GMCH Dr Shivanand Bandekar told PTI that the routine services have been partially affected due to the strike, while emergency services are going on.

He said that the hospital is conducting emergency operations while “dated operations” are rescheduled due to the strike.

Dr Bandekar said that the Out Patient Departments are working smoothly as they are managed by senior doctors. The new admissions are also taken up, he said.
