Panaji: While Sattari and Bicholim were the stars of Union minister Shripad Naik’s landslide victory from North Goa, Porvorim assembly constituency was the highlight of Bardez, which gave highest margin in the taluka.
The analysis of the results indicate that Calangute and Aldona were the constituencies where Congress candidate scored over the BJP, all other constituencies gave edge to Naik.
BJP’s Michael Lobo led Calangute gave 2050 lead to Congress, Congress’ Carlos Alvares Ferreira represented Aldona gave three digit, only 270 lead to Khalap.
Porvorim constituency gave sizeable lead of 6,098 to Naik increasing his tally in North Goa. Naik polled 12,660 votes while Congress got 6562 votes in this constituency represented by minister Rohan Khaunte.
BJP’s Kedar Naik represented Saligao constituency gave 1508 lead to Naik while Joshua D’Souza led Mapusa gave 2594 lead to the BJP.
