Panaji : Maharashtravadi Gomantak Paksh (MGP) supremo Sudin Dhavalikar addressed a press conference today and alleged that while CM Pramod Sawant prides himself as being the education minister of Goa, poor students from villages continue to suffer due to inaccessibility to online education.
“Government does not want students to study,” he charged. Dhavalikar recalled that historically foreign invaders did not want Indians to get formal education. “Portuguese did not want to educate Goans, It looks like government wants to follow their trend,” he said
MGP supremo also requested Devendra Fadnavis who is in Goa to pay attention to the plight of students in villages. “Devendra Fadnavis who is the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra should visit the Goan villages and address the grievances of students that are facing connectivity issues”
Dhavalikar has alleged that students across Goa face Network and internet connectivity issues and many of the students still have no access to smartphones.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should come clear on his role as education minister of Goa and what steps he has taken for the welfare of students, said Dhavalikar.
