Online contest to be held by Global Goans Art Club

Panaji : The Global Goans Art Club will hold the first ever online art contest for all Goans residing all over the world. The Global
Goans Art club is an initiative started by Rene Barreto, who is also the founder of the World Goa Day initiative.
In November 2020, he reached out to Jerson Antao, an advertising professional and watercolour painter. The idea of the first ever online Goan Art Festival then took shape with few more members. The theme of
the contest is “Happiness in Goa” and contestants are invited to paint on aspects about Goa that makes them happy and smile.
The contest will be in three categories, Age 6-11 (juniors), Age 12-17 (teens) and Age 18+ (adults), with three prizes in each category. All the participants will get an e-certificate.

26.
On September 26, there will be a five-hour long event comprising an exhibition of the best entries of the contest, followed by panel
discussions and workshops related to art.
The team involved in the Global Goans Art Club consists of Rene Barreto (Founder), Smitha Bhandare Kamat (Chief Advisor) and
Floscy Gracias, Adele Britto, Jerson Antao, Savio Mascarenhas, Letecia Alvares, Debbie Fernandes and Kay Costa Viegas (coordinators).
