Panaji : National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Goa and All India Professional Congress Goa(AIPCG) slammed various colleges across Goa for taking full fees and hiking fees of students amidst pandemic. Present for the press conference were Dr. Aashish Kamat, Ahraz Mulla, Naushad Chowdhari, Simran Malkarnekar and Devsurabhee Yaduwanshi.
Dr Ashish Kamat, Convenor of All India Professional Congress Goa said, “The unreasonable, unjustified and arbitrary hike in the fees  for the postgraduate courses at the Goa Dental College and Hospital is totally unjustified.” He demanded that the Health Department should immediately  restore the old fees. “This heartless Govt should explain why it undertook such a steep hike in fees and that too suddenly?” asked Dr Kamat.
Ahraz Mulla President of NSUI inferred, “There has been 833% hike in Fees for post graduate students of Dental Course, as reported by Goan everyday, this is nothing but a nefarius design to deter weaker sections of the society and backward classes.”
The leaders while addressing the press also questioned, “Whether the MBBS course fees hike is next on the card, as for this Govt that hides its ill intentions and springs such nasty surprises on poor and middle-class people who cannot afford private medical colleges education?”
