Panaji: All Owners / Masters of the barges, passengers launches, ferry boats, tindels of fishing trawlers and operators of the mechanized and non mechanized crafts, including the tourist boats, cruise boats, etc. are directed to ensure that the vessels are in complete seaworthiness prior monsoon. The vessels registered under IV Act, 1917 not to venture out beyond I.V. limits and offshore operators are advised to exercise precautions in accordance with extant SOPs.
Vessels / Crafts / Boats at anchorage in Mandovi River are to exercise caution and to be manned for effective response with minimum manning scale, in case of any eventuality. No vessels are permitted to anchor at Panaji Port Limits during the monsoon.
Indian Coast Guard has been allotted Maritime SAR Emergency Number 1554 which is applicable to all mobile operators. In case of any eventuality/emergency vessels will immediately inform Coast Guard authorities, DG (Shipping) and Port authorities/Agents).
The above guideline are issued due to Meteorological conditions during the onset of monsoon season.
