Panaji: Goa-based NGO Uzwaad – The Ray of Hope adopted an unique way to create awareness on various issues including state’s rich heritage on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.
The NGO members travelled from North to South Goa visiting all the railway stations and performed street plays on the subjects like Goa Liberation, Saving Goa’s heritage, cleanliness and kitchen gardening as a solution to food scarcity and poverty.
The volunteers also interacted with the public at those railway stations to inform them about Uzwaad’s new initiative “seed saving and seed sharing.”
As a part of this initiative, the NGO educated people how they can use whatever seed you get from whichever fruit or vegetable by planting them and growing organically by using kitchen waste as a compost. In this way, one can grow their own fruits and vegetables and live healthier life.
