Panaji: On the occasion of Navy Day, the Naval Aviation Museum at Bogmalo is providing free entry for school children from December 4 to 6.

The Navy Day is celebrated on December 4, every year to commemorate ‘Operation Trident’, a decisive event during the 1971 Indo – Pak war. The swift and daring missile attack on Karachi harbour took the enemy by surprise and was one of the key factors in ensuring the victory of the Indian Armed Forces against Pakistan.

With a collection of 14 vintage aircraft on display along with engines, armaments and much more, the Naval Aviation Museum at Goa is a one of its kind in Asia, showcasing  the rich legacy of Indian Naval Aviation and a delight for any aviation enthusiast.

It also has a dedicated ‘Engine Bay’, displaying  rarest of the Aero-engines from the World War era; as well as various artefacts and memorabilia showcasing the heritage of Indian Naval ‘Air Arm’. The museum also houses a state-of-the-art mini theater that screens military movies, short videos on Indian Navy and infotainment on Naval Aviation.
The museum has won Travellers’ Choice Award 2020 by Trip Advisor, for commitment to hospitality and consistent superior user reviews. The museum is open to both Indian and foreign nationals on all days except Mondays from 10 am to 6 pm on weekdays and to 6:30 pm on weekends. Further details are available on the museum website www.navalaviationmuseumgoa.com or phone number 0832-258 5384.
