Panaji : Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party leader Sudin Dhavlikar has alleged that numerous rivers in the state are running dry as Mhadei water is diverted.

“The gravity of the problem can be seen in Krishnapur where two rivers meet which are running dry during this time of the year” lamented Dhawlikar. He contended that Mhadei was safe during MGP rule till 1977 later political parties like Congress and BJP have exploited it.

BJP Goa President Sadanand Shet Tanavade   has hit back saying the government of Goa also cares about Mhadei. “we should look at Karnataka where political parties forget about their differences and come together for such issues” said Tanvade. According to him in Goa political parties do not resort to constructive criticisms.
