Panaji: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has called on teachers to look at their work with more as a responsibility and less like a profession.
Parrikar’s message on the occasion of Teachers Day was read out during the State level function organized at Kala Academy to felicitate teachers. Chief Minister is in USA for health check-up.
“Teacher plays a major role in creating a generation with virtues. That is why the teacher should look at his work, more like a responsibility and less like a profession,” he said.
“I appeal to the teachers that while commemorating Teachers’ Day today, the aim should be to create the generation with virtue,” he added.
Chief Minister said that the need of hour is of a generation which is patriotic, with good virtues and with the passion for social work. “My government has already started working towards creating that generation. That is why we have included yoga, traffic awareness and road safety, sanitation, menstrual hygiene, oral hygiene, waste management as a part of school curriculum at primary level,” he said.
