Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, on World Wildlife Day, has appealed the communities in the state to regenerate economic growth around our pristine forests.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed March 3 as the day to observe the UN World Wildlife Day. The day is celebrated to rise awareness about various wild animals and plants across the globe.
In his message, Sawant, on Wednesday, said “Our beautiful state of Goa is blessed with rich bio diversity.”
“Today we celebrate World Wildlife Day with the theme “Forests and Livelihoods, Sustaining People and Planet,” he added.
Sawant said that under the swayampurna Goa initiative, we should be enable our communities to regenerate economic growth around our pristine forests and spread awareness to preserve them for our future generation.
