Panaji: With extreme weather conditions prevailing over the State due to cyclonic depression in Arabian sea, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa observatory has advised tourists not to visit the coastal State till October 27.

Goa is been put on red alert for Thursday. Till now, it has received almost 90mm of rains for the day.

IMD Goa director Dr Krrishnamurty Padgalwar told media that tourists are advised not to visit Goa for four days from October 24 to 27 due to extreme bad weather conditions.

“In view of formation of depression and its movement towards east-northeast direction, extremely heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in the State. It is advised tourists to avoid coming to the State during this period,” he said.

He said that the sea conditions are also going to be rough and fishermen are advised not to venture into sea.
