GSPCB allows MPT’s Mooring Dolphin facility to handle coal on trial basis

Panaji: The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) during its 138th board meeting held last week had decided to allow coal handling activities on trial basis at the mooring dolphin facility of the Mormugao Port Trust (MPT).
GSPCB has allowed MPT to utilise mooring dolphin No 1 upto a period of May 31, 2019 and mooring dolphin No 3 upto June 15, 2019 to handle two cargo vessels of coal/coke.
Board has decided to install Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) at the site and the Board officials would be deployed to monitor the handling of coal.
