Panaji: Slamming Pramod Sawant for another fake promise in a long line of fake promises, AAP leader Mahadev Naik asked Sawant whether in the last 5 years he has been able to ensure water reaches every Goenkar, before executing his PR stunt of free water. Goenkars are suffering with erratic water supply, dirty water and dry nulls even during the monsoons. Sawant’s Har Ghar Nal yojana has been a resounding failure with Goenkars still having to depend on tankers and wells.
After the Sawant Sarkar’s announcement officials from the PWD are still clueless as to how they will implement this step barely 15 days before it’s announcement. With water pipeline bursts being an almost daily occurrence, how is the CM going to enure the free water reaches those who need it? Many areas including Tuem, Chapora, Siolim, Sanvordem, Sanguem to name a few face regular water crises. Constant water shortages have racked the residents of Porvorim as well.
One must not also forget the looming crisis as the Sawant Sarkar fails to secure Goa’s natural rights to the Mhadei river. AAP volunteers have many times led deputations for water issues all over Goa. It is clear that the Sawant Sarkar has neither the plans nor the will to do anything to solve these issues. Moreover a recent report indicated a high level of microplastics in Goan water.
“Sawant has just made an announcement without thinking of the modality of how he will provide water to every house and how will he make this free. The fact is that Goa is still not tanker free. When the Aam Aadmi Party brought their free water scheme in Delhi they married it with measures to make the city tanker free, and with plans on how to reach piped water to every household” said AAP Leader Mhadev Naik
“After failing Goenkars for so many years and arrogantly denying them their rights and services, Pramod Sawant now realises only the Kejriwal Model is the future” said Naik. “Sawant is desperate because he thinks this jumla will win over voters, but Goans know they cannot trust a man who is not able to even provide proper water supply” added Naik.
