Govt begins contact tracing at Morlem, Sattari

Morlem: As an exercise of contact tracing a team from Community Health Centre Valpoi was dispatched to Morlem village of Sattari taluka to screen all contacts of positive patients in Morlem. 78 swab samples were taken and sent for testing at North Goa District Hospital.

As a result of a positive patient being detected in the village after one health worker assigned at UHC Vasco found positive than after his family and close contacts were also found positive.

CHC team headed by Dr Shyam Kankonkar, Dr Rahul Rane, Dr Varsha Kerkar, Aqueeb Shaikh, Sandesh Naik, Bhagyashree Gaonkar, Nikita Naik, Fondu Paryekar, Kamlakant Humane and Tukaram Bhat took samples of all the contacts at Government School Morle and sent it for testing.

Morle Village panchayat Sarpanch Vidya Sawant confirmed this news and said “I thank Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and CHC Valpoi team for collecting samples of 78 villagers. Our village is still in lockdown mode and from Village panchayat, we will be distributing free grocery items to our village houses”.

Earlier Health Minister Vishwajit Rane had tweeted that to stop the spread of this virus all the contacts of morle village will be traced and tested.
