Panaji: Congress party today urged Goa Governor Mridula Sinha not to act as a “protector of BJP led government” while being just a “mute spectator” to the current happenings in the State administration.
Congress spokesperson Adv Yatish Naik slammed government for holding cabinet and IPB meeting at personal residence of chief minister calling it to be most unconstitutional, undemocratic act and strongly condemned it.
Naik said that Governor, who has repeatedly ignored Congress party’s appeal to dismiss this government, now on urgent basis needs to intervene and act.
“Governor has failed to discharge her constitutional duty. She is becoming mute spectator to everything that is happening in the State, which is been taken to ransom by BJP. She is acting as protector of BJP led government and not the protector of the State or people,” he accused.
“Governor is not just a person to occupy such big office …she has a constitutional power to act,” he added.
