Panaji : Trevor Barreto Principal of Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School woke up to loud noises on 20th February, Saturday 2:50 AM at the wee hours of night when he heard his car’s alarm near his house. His mother was awake and screamed as she saw raging flames near her house. The car of Barreto had been set ablaze by a few goons.
“As I saw the goons running I realized one of them was my peon who works at the office” said Barreto. He also lamented saying the police are not cooperating to investigate the case. Savio Coutinho the Shadow Council for Margao Convenor was also present to support the Principal. “It looks like the goons are safer than law abiding citizens here, irequest the police to initiate the necessary action from their end and punish the wrongdoers” said Coutinho.
