Panaji: With three more ministerial berths remaining vacant, Gomantak Bhandari Samaj, an influential community in the coastal state, has demanded that one of their representative MLA should be inducted in Pramod Sawant-led cabinet.
GBS President Ashok Naik told reporters on Monday that the BJP has failed to give representation to Bhandari community in North Goa District.
He said that he would be submitted detailed memorandum to the chief minister on Tuesday.
“We demand that MGP MLA Jeet Arolkar should be inducted in the cabinet when BJP fills the three vacant posts,” he said.
Naik thanked BJP for giving representation to two of its community members Ravi Naik (Ponda) and Subhash Shirodkar (Shiroda) in the cabinet.
Sawant had announced names of nine ministers including himself while three posts are vacant. Arolkar’s MGP that has won on two seats has already extended their support to the government.
