Goa to set up emergency care centres, deploy Ambulances along highways: Rane

Panaji: Goa Health department is in the process of setting up emergency care centre and deployment of Ambulances at highways to cater to the road accident cases, minister Vishwajit Rane told the House.

In a written reply tabled on the floor of the House, Rane said that the Health department is in the process of setting up emergency care centre and deployment of Ambulances at
highways to cater to the road vehicular trauma cases and non-vehicular cases.

“The department has also procured nine Cardiac Care Ambulances and two Neo natal ambulances and is in the process of procurement of 17 Additional Advance Lifesaving Ambulances,” Rane said.

The minister said that the Department is in the process of procurement of new Ambulances and increase the fleet of ambulances which will reduce the response time to reach at victim during golden hours.

Responding to a question about complaints concerning the grievance of lacking to deliver swift quality care to the injured or critically ill persons received from the public in the past three years on the functioning of both the 108 Ambulance services, Rane said that total of 23 complaints received for the past three years regarding functioning of 108 ambulance services.
