Panaji: The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) has announced the extension of its “COVID-19 Amnesty Scheme” to provide much-needed relief to industries adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and other challenges.

In light of the continuing hardships faced by businesses, the validity of this scheme has been extended for an additional 30 days, now running until August 22, 2023, said said Pravimal Abhishek,  Managing Director, Goa Industrial Development Corporation.

The “COVID-19 Amnesty Scheme” was initially introduced by the Goa-IDC in  June 23, 2023.

“This scheme aims to alleviate the financial burden and offer support to industries grappling with the consequences of the ongoing pandemic, including the disruption of supply chains, decreased demand, and operational challenges,” Abhishek said.

He said that IDC understands the difficulties and uncertainties faced by our industrial partners due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other factors.

“That is why we have decided to extend the validity of our “COVID-19 Amnesty Scheme” for another 30 days, giving them more time and opportunity to avail the benefits of this scheme,” he said.

Abhishek said that this scheme is designed to provide relief and support to the industries that have been adversely affected by the pandemic and help them overcome the challenges and bounce back stronger.

“We urge all the eligible industries to apply for this scheme and take advantage of the concessions and incentives offered by the Goa-IDC.  We are here to help and guide them throughout the process,” he added.

The MD said that the extension of the validity of the scheme is aimed at assisting industries in their recovery and revival efforts. The extension provides businesses with an extended window to avail themselves of the benefits and concessions outlined within the scheme, he said.
